Nordex and OptiBuy join forces to tame the potential of sustainable sourcing

Nordex, one of the pioneer entities which shaped the modern wind-power industry, delivering over 27 GW (Gigawatts) of wind-based energy, launched a sourcing project lead by OptiBuy, a consulting agency specializing in procurement management.

 

 

 

One of the largest wind turbine manufacturers (OEM) in the world (ranked 6th – FTI Intelligence, 2018) – Nordex Group– consistently seizes development opportunities in industry forecasted to grow over the course of the upcoming years. While focusing on the development of their high-efficiency, economic and ecological technologies, the management does not skip the importance of suppliers in the business processes.

 

The company’s aim was to further extend its reliable steel structures supplier base able to fulfill complex production and environmental standards for turbines delivered to 20 countries.

 

Nordex quality engineers are currently testing samples provided by several shortlisted and prequalified suppliers.

 
We have to wait a little longer for final decisions to come. However, I know we did our best to prepare a consistent list of suited suppliers, as we always do. After sourcing, evaluation and prequalification stages and all the organized tenders, taken care of by OptiBuy, the shift to testing phase with chosen suppliers means everything is on the right track for new partnerships – says Bartłomiej Bącik, Partner at OptiBuy and manager of the project.
